Questions we are asked

Plain answers, before you write.

Gondo Creative Studios is a design-led studio in Harare, Zimbabwe, working online with clients anywhere. These are the questions people ask us before they write to the studio, answered from the way we actually work: what we do, where we are, how pricing works, and how a project starts.

Brand identity

Who does brand identity in Harare?

We do. Gondo Creative Studios is a design-led brand studio in Harare, Zimbabwe, and we work online with clients anywhere. Brand identity is the first of the five things we do: brand strategy and DNA, a strategic identity system, a comprehensive identity manual, treatment guides, and the collateral and rollout artwork that carries one identity across your materials.

We build for corporates, professionals, individuals and families with a story worth carrying. A brand is an asset you own, not a look you rent, so the work includes practical guidance for using the identity consistently after we hand it over.

What is a brand DNA?

A brand DNA is the clear foundation under an identity: who the brand is, what it sells and never sells, its voice, its palette and type, and the rules for applying them. We write it first, keep it current, and check the later work against it. The second job with us starts where the first one ended, because the brief and your corrections are kept.

Do you design logos on their own?

A mark on its own is rarely what a business needs. We design the identity system the mark belongs to: the mark, the type, the colour, the layout rules and the guidance for using them together. Where a client needs a smaller scope, we say so plainly and agree it before we start.

Motion and screen

What does a motion advert cost?

It depends on the piece, so we do not publish a price grid on this site. A motion advert is priced to its brief: the length, the screens it runs on, the material you already have, the number of versions and ratios, and the rounds of changes included. Agency work is priced to the client and the scope, so a short signage loop and a launch film are different jobs.

The way it works: tell us what you need to achieve, we read what you already have, and we send a written scope with the price before anything is produced. Use the form at the foot of this page and we reply from the studio with a clear next step.

What kinds of motion work do you make?

Kinetic type and logo animation, digital signage and screen loops, explainers and interface walkthroughs. The pieces are designed for the display they will play on, unhurried and smooth at the display's native rate. Commercial post-production, audio, premium 3D and character work are scoped per engagement, and we confirm the scope before we take the job.

Websites

Can you build a website?

Yes. We build brand-true websites and landing pages: a clearer place to understand and contact your business, replicated from the exact reference you chose, furnished with your identity, and checked against that reference in numbers rather than asserted to be close. This site is built the same way.

Hosting, deployment and maintenance support come with clear custody and handover: your production accounts stay yours, and the access we hold is documented. Application interface design and packaging an existing app are scoped per engagement.

Will the site be fast in Zimbabwe?

That is a design rule for us, not an afterthought. Pictures load first, clips load when they are in view, nothing is fetched from a third party before the page appears, and the fonts and clips are served from the site itself. We measure the weight of every page against a budget before it ships.

CVs and personal brand

How do you fix a CV?

Through GCS Career Labs, our career and personal-brand channel. Send your current CV on WhatsApp with the role you are aiming for. We read it and reply with what works, what is missing and what we would change. That first review is free.

Then you choose the package that fits: Standard (one CV), Hunter (one CV and one cover letter), Dual Threat (two target CVs and two cover letters) or Executive Suite (one CV, one cover letter and LinkedIn strategy text). We confirm the scope in plain words before anything is built, rebuild from your own history, and deliver documents you can send the same day.

Start with a free review on the Career Labs page.

How much does a CV cost?

Each package has a fixed price, and it is confirmed on WhatsApp once we know your target role, so that the package you pay for is the one you need. We do not print the prices here. What we never do is promise interviews, hires or a score from any hiring software: we present true experience clearly, and the rest is yours.

Do you write cover letters and LinkedIn profiles?

Yes. Cover letters ride inside the Hunter, Dual Threat and Executive Suite packages and are available on their own. LinkedIn strategy text is part of the Executive Suite. Revisions and editable exports are available on request.

Events, print and production

Do you print, manufacture or install?

No. The design files and the supplier specifications are ours; printing, manufacturing, installation, filming and full event execution stay with your suppliers unless we scope them together. For stands and events we visualise the space in three dimensions first, so you can judge the light, the flow and the artwork before anyone cuts a panel.

Do you make social media creative?

Yes: campaign artwork, flyers, posters and key visuals that carry one identity across every post, with the message, channels and ratios agreed before we start. Ongoing content management and paid media management are scoped per engagement.

Working with us

Where are you, and do you work outside Zimbabwe?

We are in Harare, Zimbabwe, and we work online with clients anywhere. Zimbabwean and African businesses come first by history; international clients work with us by the same rules. The one contact is [email protected].

How does a project start?

Tell us what you need to achieve, who the work needs to reach, the materials you already have and any real constraints. We read what we hold before we ask you anything, then we send a written scope: what will be built, the source facts, the targets, the deliverables, the exclusions, the formats, the included rounds of changes, your responsibilities and the point of acceptance. Approval attaches to that version, and production starts on your yes.

What if something in the work is wrong?

Corrections of our own defects are free. Changes inside the included rounds remain included. A genuinely new request is scoped separately. This does not mean revisions without end or support without end; it means the agreed scope is honoured on both sides.

Can you name the clients you have worked for?

Not without written consent, so we do not. The work on this site is shown as ours and labelled as it is: a piece made for a client is shown as capability, a self-initiated piece is labelled a capability showcase, and a piece generated for this site says so.

How is payment handled?

The scope is agreed first. The quotation or invoice then names the terms, and the payment details come from the studio in that same conversation, never from this page. Production begins once the studio confirms the payment and you have approved the scope.
